A dish prepared on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi which is celebrated in my part of the world today. Its a day for fasting and abstinence from all grains, beans, cereals, certain vegetables like onions and certain spices and all kinds of meat and eggs. Its also marks the culmination of the religious procession (‘waari’) at the town of Pandharpur, Maharashtra (India), a tradition that has been followed for nearly 400 years.
